CEO Author Business System & Course

YOUR WRITING ISN'T THE PROBLEM.

You don't need another writing workshop, another hack, or another plan you'll abandon by March.

You have an author avalanche problem.

And what you need is an author business that runs quietly in the background, so your time goes where it actually belongs: into the next book.

This practical, hands-on system is for fiction and nonfiction writers. Build it once. Reference it forever. Start with two modules free.

WHO IT'S FOR

Which writer are you?

•      The writer who woke up this morning and decided today's the day. You're going to be a writer, and you'd rather build it right than rebuild it later.

•      The writer who's been poking at the idea of writing. But it’s a lot and you can't quite get the pieces to line up.

•      The writer buried in the author avalanche. You've been at this a while. You're publishing. But it’s chaos and costing you more of your life than it should.

•      The writer who knows what they're doing and wants to do it better.

Fiction or nonfiction. Full-time or an hour before work. The System serves the part-time writer especially well, because that's exactly who can't afford to waste time deciding what to do next.

 | A plan is a map to one destination. A system is the ship and the compass.

WHAT THIS IS — and what it isn't

The CEO Author Business System sorts everything you do as an author into seven containers. Not seven more jobs — seven places for the work to live, so you always know where something goes and where to find it again.

In this paradigm shifting Author Business System, you're taught how the 7 systems interconnect and work together. This System lightens your workload, giving you back more of your personal time. And all that confusion about social media and newsletters and blogs and business structures and accounting and email platforms and your reader community finally becomes clear.

And don't let the CEO part put you off. Writing is art. Of course it is. But the minute you make money at it, it's also a business, with its own rules and its own laws. So switch the acronym: CEO = Creative Endeavor Originator. You control the art. You are not at the mercy of the Muse.

If you want a course on how to write a novel, this isn't it. If you want someone to promise you passive income, I'm the wrong person. This is the business structure underneath the writing — nothing more, and nothing less.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

Ten shifts that change how your business runs.

The ten

1.     The writing comes first. Your imagination is your most valuable asset. You'll learn to protect it fiercely and prioritize it above everything else.

2.     Adopt the CEO mindset. Move from reactive hobbyist to creative endeavor originator — someone who leads their career on purpose.

3.     Implement the seven systems. Sort every business and creative task into seven interconnected containers, and the avalanche stops.

4.     Separate creation from administration. Build a safe harbor for your flow state so logistics can't bury your writing process.

5.     Divide work into two methods. Know when you're building infrastructure and when you're driving traffic — and stop confusing the two.

6.     Establish a CEO Day. One day a month to care for the business, so it stops bleeding into your creative time.

7.     Be a book creator, not a content creator. Stop treating platforms as daily chores. Start using them as integrated tools.

8.     Automate your marketing. Batch your content and let schedulers run it while you write.

9.     Use an author-friendly funnel. Treat a book purchase as a turning point, not a finish line, and guide readers toward your community.

10.  Prioritize sustainability. Build writing habits that grow a career instead of burning one out.

Every one of these exists for the same reason: the business of writing is in service to the writing itself.

How it works and what it costs

Pay-per-Module. But start free. Never buy a course you haven't tried.

I've spent a lot of money on writing courses and programs. Some were worth it. Most asked for everything up front and hoped I'd never look closely. So this one doesn't work that way.

You join the community for a one-time $5. Modules 1 and 2 are free — watch them, do the work, and decide for yourself. After that you buy modules one at a time, $10 each, in whatever order serves your business. No subscription. No bundle you'll feel guilty about.

What comes with it

•      13 video modules you work through at your own pace

•      The CEO Author System Guide — the full workbook the course is built on

•      Templates and worksheets, including the Campaign Builder and Project Development worksheets

•      The Maintenance Checklist, the Systems Flowchart, and the yearly, monthly, and weekly planning pages

•      A community of writers building the same thing at the same time

The $5 community and modules fees are non-refundable. But modules are purchased individually and are yours to download for your own personal use.

I built this because I needed it.

I'm E.S. Magill. I taught English for a career, retired in 2021, and went all in as an indie writer — which in my case translated as doing everything myself.

I felt the avalanche from the first month. My writing group and I tried every new app that hit the industry, certain the next one would fix it. We took courses. We spent money. We wrote and published books anyway, because that part is actually straightforward — we're comfortable wearing writer hats. It was the business side that stayed out of control.

Retired teacher here. Chaos is not acceptable.

So I wrote a business plan, and it didn't work, and I figured out why: I didn't need a plan. I needed a system — and I needed to stop treating my newsletter, my social media, and my marketing as separate kingdoms each demanding daily tribute. That realization became the CEO Author Business System.

I'm not going to tell you I'm a six-figure author. I'm not there yet. But I get closer every year, and I no longer lose my writing days to the business of writing. That's what this System is for.

FAQs about the CEO Author Business System

Questions worth asking before you spend anything.

Will this teach me how to write a book?

No. This is the business structure around the writing, not the craft inside it. If you want craft instruction, spend your money elsewhere first — and come back when the business side starts eating your writing days.

I write part-time. Is this too much?

The opposite. The System serves part-time writers especially well, because when you only have a few hours a week, you can't afford to spend any of them deciding what to do next. The flowchart answers that question for you.

How long does it take to build?

Longer than a weekend and that's by design. Expect the first month or two to feel slow while you set up your processes. Some writers take a year to build all seven systems. That's fine. Your writing stays the priority the entire time — you build the business around it, not instead of it.

Fiction or nonfiction?

Both. The seven systems don't care what genre you write.

Do I have to buy the whole course?

No. Modules 1 and 2 are free, and after that you buy them one at a time for $10 as you need them. You'll know within two modules whether this is for you.

Is this another productivity system I'll abandon?

That's the right thing to be suspicious of. The difference is that this one isn't asking you to do more every day — it's asking you to build containers once so you can stop re-deciding things. Most of the seven systems go quiet after you build them and become a reference you consult, not a routine you maintain.

What if I already use a planner or a quarterly planning system?

This sits underneath that, not against it. The System handles structure and operations; it touches planning and goal setting without trying to replace a dedicated planning program. In fact, I recommend everyone find a planning system they can follow.

Closing CTA

You're not winging this anymore.

You already know how to write. That was never the problem. What you need is a business that holds still long enough to let you do it — one you build once instead of rebuilding every time life interrupts.

Two modules cost you nothing. Find out in an afternoon whether this is the structure you've been missing.
